Finland - Turku to Tampere

Thousands of bodies have been entombed under the floor of Turku Cathedral over the centuries. In the Middle Ages many wealthy merchants and noble families bought tomb vaults from the Church for their private use. In 1784, burials inside Turku Cathedral were banned.
